A Japanese Noh stage, one of only two in Western Europe, has been donated to the University of Reading by a Hong Kong-based foundation dedicated to promoting the understanding of Chinese and Buddhist-related art in the West. Noh, one of the most famous styles of classical Asian theatre, dates from at least the 14th century. The Robert H.N. Ho Foundation donated the stage following an exhibition in London. Reading is now planning a biannual festival of Noh, thought to be the first of its kind in the world.
