Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (SNS) is a public university located in Italy’s Tuscany region, famous for being the home of Italian Renaissance.
The higher education institution traces its history back to 1810, when Napoleon I issued an official order demanding its establishment as a twin institute of the Parisian École Normale Supérieure.
SNS is part of the higher education network called Pisa University System alongside with University of Pisa and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.
Originally established to help young scholars to delve into the relationship between sciences and humanities, the institution still successfully follows the same direction by encouraging research and disseminating know-how within industries.
